Love...Will Keep Us Together!

  • Mood: Tired...Again!
  • Music: "Interstate Love Song" Stone Temple Pilots

So mom and dad love me! They felt so bad about me spending all that money on the new parts for computer #1 and not being able to do a thing with it they gave me $400.00 to get the other parts I needed! So now I have my new ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard and an AMD Athlon 64 3800 processor coming in!

In addition I bought a couple 120mm Thermaltake Thunderblade tri-coloured LED case fans. The case came with two blue LED fans but I'm partial to Thermaltake and I wanted something multicoloured as well. I also invested in the Nikao LCD temperature monitor which keeps track of all my CPU's internal workings. Can't wait for allthis stuff to show up.

In other news I bought my Lorne Greene Canadain Stamps as well as finding an auction on Ebay that sold the elusive Details magazine extra that promoted them. Another glorious addition to an already overpowering collection.

PB has been a bit dead lately but that's expected considering the rush we had not long ago. I'm still running through some new rules and suggestions and I'm still working on the site. I just can't seem to get the motivation worked up the last few weeks to put in a lot of work or chat even for that matter. I don't know why but I just haven't been up to it.

"Needy Evie" ismuch better in case anyone was interested. She spent the whole night reminding me of how I left her. She slept on me afraid even for asecond that I would disappear or something. It was really cute. Well I'm off to bed, mad early again, as that has been the case for the last week or so.

Processors! Motherboards! And Graphics Cards! Oh My!

  • Mood: Slightly Annoyed
  • Music: "Fix You" Coldplay

Okay so "Needy Evie" had a vet appointment today. She had to be groomed and clipped for the summer. The problem is that my extremly mellow cat turns into psycho kitty anytime she has to go to the vet or has to get a bath. She also hates to be left alone. Take all three and wrap them in a nice pretty package with a calico bow and you have the extent of my day.

Evie was not happy that mommy left her at the vet cause they had to sedate her for the better part of the day. I would have loved to have gone with a normal groomer but since she gives herself minor strokes and heartattacks whenever we get her near water we had to go this route.

I got in all my fun stuff for the computer rebuild today and then when I opened up the terminal I realized I needed to upgrade more than I thought. My nifty super expensive video card is not supported by my current Biostar motherboard and AMD processor chip.  Right now everything is packaged up till I can afford the upgrade pieces which probably won't be till next month.

I've looked online and I'm going to upgrade the mainboard to an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium board. I need to have a socket 939 and support chipset for NVIDIA nForce 4 SLI in order to run everything. As for the processor, though I'd love to go AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 that is way too high in my price range right now. I'm therefore going to go standard AMD Athlon 64 3800 or 4000 depending. Down the road I'll buy the better chip and since the standard 64 is still great quality I'll put it in computer #2 or possibly save it for computer #3, don't know yet.

Computer Construction... It Never Ends!

  • Mood: Creative
  • Music: "Down We Fall" Drake Bell

Okay I haven't been posting mostly because of this problem I've been having with the server. It kept forming huge spaces around my entries and was bugging the crap out of me. A person at the Brand suggested I change the layout, so I did. I think it might have worked too. Anyways the latest scoop on my life.

Dentist has to remove a few bone chips from my mouth next Wednesday before I can progress with a plate impression. I'll let you know how that goes. It looks like I'll be out of work longer than expected. I'm working on different things for PB's (AKA The Brand) site. Had an issue with my graphics card so I bought a new one. I'm going to be upgrading my current computer again! Like when I built her and all the times I upgraded her later she'll be awesome though!

I bought it a new eVGA Geforce 6800 XT SLI ready graphics card, a Diamond Xtreme 7.1 24bit Soundcard, another LiteOn Dual Layer Internal 16x DVD RW Drive but this one has LightScribe and a really awesome Nikao Dragonfire gaming case in black. Down the road after computer #2 is finished my next upgrade wil be my hard drive, then I plan on upgrading my RAM.

I love this computer and she's quite a system. The other desktop is being ornery and though I finished him up for the most part I had to gank a few parts for the main system in my room, so he's back up in the attic till I get back to work.

Hungry and Bored

  • Mood: Hungry
  • Music: "Break Stuff" Limp Bizkit

Okay so posting here hasn't been a great prospect lately. The dental surgery did me in pretty good for awhile and now I have my knee surgery looming.

I really don't have a lot to write as I've been at home everyday for the last few weeks and haven't experienced much. I'm finally starting to go out more. My mother thinks it's hilarious cause I'm talking, joking and doing normal things and the thought of having no top teeth at all isn't bothering me. My mom, though I love her to death is a young (she's only 40 and I'm 23) and very vain woman. A bad hair day is her worst fear.

Wednesday I went out and had my hair done. You all won't believe it but I had like 2 feet of my hair cut off! Now it's still long mind you, just below my shoulder blades, but I just wanted a style that wasn't hanging there anymore. I've been slowly dropping weight as my food is very limited with no top teeth.  If any of you are looking for a miracle diet, starvation works wonders.

I've spent the last week or so catching up around the internet. on things and working on organizing stuff for my website. I'll check back again soon, and thanks for all your kind words.

A Lot to Take In...

  • Mood: Kind of Bummed
  • Music: "Turn, Turn, Turn" The Byrds
  • Food: Taco Bell

Jeeze! Has it been that long since I updated?! Boy time has flown! Well I have some good news for you all you get an internet full of me the entire month of May! Yay!

Due to a recent struggle with my knee and my ongoing dental war, I'm going to be having dual surgeries and will be out of work and on disability for about 6 weeks. My dental surgery is April 26th and I'll have to stay in the hospital overnight. Then a week later they're doing surgery on my knee to remove a third of the inflammed cartilage.

I hope you all like company cause I'm going to be stuck at home for awhile.

In other news I have my entrance exam for college this month wish me luck! I got some books in from The Art Institute of Toronto in Ontario today and was planning out the second part of my doctorate program. For those of you who don't know I'm going for a Doctorate in Computer Science and will be attending 4 different schools along a period of 8 years. The first part of my degree is in Media Arts, the second is in Webdesign and Encryption, third is in Animation and Special Effects Artistry (which also includes music and sound production), and the last part is in  Digital and Computer Technology.

I'm currently still working on PB's site and I'm hoping to get a lot done during my time off if nothing else. I'd also like to work on some of my Bonanza fanfiction and hopefully revv up "Operation: Ponderosa" again.

All and all the next three months are going to be packed! I just hope I'm ready for it.

The Rules are Coming...

  • Mood: A lot on My Mind
  • Music: "Wayward Son" Kansas

As listed in my previous post I had a dental appointment on the 17th. It went rather well and we looked over my x-ray and discussed the first surgery. I don't have an appointment for that yet. I have to wait for my insurence company to okay all this work cause it's very expensive. I should know something in the next few weeks though.

For other news I'm currently typing up the rules for PB and will be posting them this weekend sometime. I have quite a list to go through yet of stuff I need to add and fix, but I'd like to really step aside from the board tinkering for a few months to work on getting the site built. I think the board is fine enough to stand on it's own. The stuff I want to do is basically cosmetic and minor so now would be a good time for me to just handle the admin problems when they arise and post but stop the tinkering so I can focus on my pretty pathetic looking site. Sneddy has a basic setup for the episode guide and fanfiction library but I want to add on to those and get the site finished. Once the site done then I'll go back to the board and work on it again.

TVs, Fake Teeth and SeaQuest?!

  • Mood: I Hate Dentists!
  • Music: "Silly Love Songs" Paul McCartney and Wings
  • Food: Brussel Sprouts

Well life is better but still threw some interesting curves my way. The first 2 weeks of the year have been quite packed. For all those wondering what's going on (AKA "My Bonanza Buddies") here's the scoop...

Christmas was alright even through I worked most of it. I worked Christmas morning from 6A-2P and Christmas Night from 10P- 6A. New Years was the same and we had some interesting things happen at Denny's including a fist fight between 2 tables in section 5/6, a woman sneaking duces into the restaurant up her skirt and a couple getting it on in the guys bathroom.

Following that interesting weekend I had a dentist appointment that put me into depression for about a week. Seems that my top teeth are unable to be saved so I have to have them all removed and a denture plate fitted. About to turn 23 and I'm already getting dentures. The thing is my teeth really don't look that bad IMO, but my dentist would know better than I would. I have a consultation with my Oral Surgeon today cause first they're going to pull out my 4 wisdom teeth which 3 of them are impacted and 2 broken molars on the bottom. I'll have that surgery by the end of the month and then in a couple months they will schedule me for removal of my other 13 top teeth.

I knew this was coming but still actually hearing it was still a blow. Hereditary dental problems like soft teeth, small jaw, gum diesease and disforming enamal all run in both sides of my family.

In other news my birthday is coming up next week! Yay! Mom and Dad bought me a LCD TV from Sony for my bedroom and it is so cute! They also got me a real surprise to watch on my new TV... The Complete First Season of SeaQuest DSV  I was so excited! I watched this show all the time when it was on but it's been so long since I'd seen it I'd forgetton a lot about it. The only things I remembered crystal clear from it was the teen idol war between Jonathan Taylor Thomas of Home Improvement and Jonathan Brandis of SeaQuest and how incredibly sexy Roy Scheider looked in his black jumpsuit and white turtleneck playing the sizzling hot Captain Nathan Bridger. Here's proof of that...

(As you've probably all noticed I wasn't paying any attention to either Jonathan and don't worry girls I'm not abandoning my main man Lorne but definitly expanding my horizons! )

Despite the recent distractions though I have written out most of the other rules for PB to help with the Boys Rooms, Actors Rooms and profile sections. I just have to type them out now which will only take me a night to do and put up.

Comfort and White Poinsettas...

  • Mood: Happy Day
  • Music: "Silent Wings" Secret Garden
  • Food: Beef Ravioli

Well I went back to work and except for a shooting pain that happened during a dinner shift yesterday I've been just fine. Friday night was surprisingly dead and I only made $60.00 on what is usually a $100.00+ night. Saturday I did well and was off the floor early. Sunday morning is my usual odds and ends shopping time after work but instead of picking those up at Walmart I bought me a new comforter and sheet set. I can't believe I just went out and spent a little over $100.00 on myself like that! But I didn't have a comforter as mine was a bit shabby so I had thrown it out this summer. I have a hard time spending that much money on myself when the holidays are coming up, but I'm already ahead of the game on Christmas Shopping so it's all good.

The comforter is so cozy though. It's a solid linen brown and is made of that super-soft luxurious microsuede. It's so comfortable and if anyone knows how cold and snowy an upstate New York winter is then you'd understand. This thing is so warm I actually took my electric blanket off my bed, something I've never done in any winter of my life. The sheets I bought match my room theme perfectly. My room is done in a modernized Victorian Style with a lot of washed out and stone washed shades of Burgundy, Burnt Orange, Sage, Olive, Linen and Ivory. The sheets are striped in those colours and look great with the solid coloured comforter.

Last night at work was funny as we were playing Spanish Music in the back. One of my friends Katie is a music major who's going for her Master's right now in Composition. It's hilarious cause she has absolutly no rhythm and couldn't figure out how to dance. Melissa (a cook) and I are dancing a jazzy style Salsa and she couldn't catch on. I'm determined to take her out clubbing one night and get her to dance.

After work I went to go and get those odds and ends I didn't get that morning. After buying the salad dressing, coffee filters, pop (soda for those of you down south reading) and a new litter box I went over to one of my fav sections, the arts and crafts department. I wanted to buy some Poinsettas to make a new centerpiece display for the dining room table for Christmas. Our Chritmas colours yep you guessed them are white, burgundy and gold. (Yes this is my fav colour scheme). I picked White Poinsettas for a change and they have a beautiful glitter on them that'll match the Mother of Pearl garland on the tree. I just have to buy some cranberries, ivy and a basket now.

I love the holidays!

About You...Oh...Boy!!!

  • Mood: Excited about Work Tonight!
  • Music: "Secret Agent Man"

Ok first off I'm doing much better. The bruising is all but gone but there's still a good 3 inch long lump. The doctor said that some of the tissue may be torn and ruptured and that it would take quite awhile to go down. The swelling was too bad at the time to give me a definite prognosis on this but I do believe he was right. If I don't see a change in the size by Wednesday (which will be two weeks since the accident) I'll go have it looked at again. As far as the hair-line fracture/crack goes he said it'd be a month or two before that heals. I can still feel it somewhat, but only when I sit a certain way. Tonight comes the big test since I'm going back to work. Yay!!!

I've been so bored lately I'm glad I'm finally getting out of the house.

Well on to something different...

86. Who do you admire? Anyone who stands up for what they believe in, and is proud of who they are. Example: I had a group of people come into Denny's a few weeks ago who are part of a gay/lesbian organization at the college campus. One of the guys is really flamboyent and was dressed to the nines in a beautiful red satin evening gown and a blond wig. They were coming from a campus drag party and he was totally cool with who he was and that he was dressed like a woman. Some of the guys I know who I were sitting in my station were laughing. I turned to Shane and said "anyone who had that much selfconfidence should be commended. Too many people are insecure in who they are that they find solace in belittling those around them that dare to be different." They all shut up fast. When I went by they're table I stopped to say hi as I have waited on them before and complimented him on how ravishing he looked. He was so nice about it and said he knows people talk but he doesn't care cause he knows he looks good and then laughed.

87. What is the 1 priority in your life? Those closest to me. My family, friends, online friends, Evie and Milo (my cats) they all are so very important to me.

88. How many kids do you want? Probably 3 or 4 depends.

89. Any bad habits? Procrastination (I'm not kidding this has gotten out of control!)

Okay guys! Your turn!

Getting Kicked is Not Cool

  • Mood: Sore
  • Music: "Astronomy Domine" Pink Floyd

Sorry I know I've had a bad habit of disappearing lately. To my online friends and Bonanza collagues I'll understand if you hate me.

Onto my reason and yes I have a good one this time.

Sunday, October 30th my internet went down as Adelphia is going through the transition to Time Warner Cable. Since my internet is through Adelphia I lost that up till this past Thursday while Road Runner was beng installed. I'm sure many of you know about the Adelphia Cable incident this past year so I don't need to elaborate. This did put a serious kink in my work however as I was not able to launch my Michael Landon Theme for his birthday on Monday.

Out of all the themes I had done I had worked harder on that one than any of them. What I plan to do is launch the theme for a weekend long celebration (so all the Joe Girls can enjoy it). I'll launch this theme the weekend before Thanksgiving as I want to see what's going on with the board first before adding anything else to it.

Things were looking good as the internet was going up but then Wednesday came thing's took a turn for the worse. Wednesday night changed the way I'll deal with horses for the rest of my life. Having never owned a young horse I don't know what I was thinking but I got cocky and thought I could handle it.

We (my family and I) went down to the stable that evening to check on him (I work with him 2-3 times a day. This was our last trip of the day). Now that it's getting dark much earlier I was unable to run him in the corral this time as it's not lighted. So I was walking him around and letting him graze while my parents did a once over on the stall. My brother and I were walking him (which I'd done loads of times) when all of a sudden Dak started spinning circles. So here I am under the glow of one lonely lamp trying to gauge the animal's actions with Jason asking me "what's he doing?" all of a sudden he spun really fast and kicked me with both back legs. Now I'm not some 6'2" 200 lb guy. I'm just under 5' 4" and weigh about 160 lb (at the heaviest) plus I'm a girl, so I took that blow really hard.

I remember screaming as he ran off but didn't know it was me making all that racket. It was too dark for me to see where he'd ran off to but the stable is a little more then 50 yards from a unlit street and the only thing I could think of was... heaven forbid he run out there and cause an accident... I didn't want the death of someone at the expense of my foolishness on my conscious. My parents ran out and I remember yelling go get the horse.

My mom came over and helped me up whild dad went after Dakota. Shock had already set in and I was shaking cause this horse had scared me so bad. Dakota was hving no part of stable life and anted the freedom of doing what he wanted like he did before. He tried in the process of my dad going after him to charge and trample both my dad and brother.

After getting him back in the stall I went to the hospital some time later and found out that between the internal hemorraging and swelling that I had a crack in the pelvic bone and a very large hematoma that measures a good 8 inches across. Now the area where this injury rests all I can say is that I'm glad I'm not a guy. The left half of that as well as the upper thigh and where they're jointed is where the damage is most extensive. The doctor said I was very lucky because an inch higher and I might never have been able to have children.

Needless to say I haven't been doing much for the past few days and I took this whole thing as a sign. I've gotten hit by that horse twice already. They say things happen in threes. The second time was pretty bad the third I didn't even want to think about. so I figured God was telling me something and I wasn't going to tempt fate again so dad sold him to a riding stable the next day. I didn't have a whole lot of time to get attached so I'm more upset about the money I lost in this investment then anything.

Money I can make back but my health... Live and learn.
