Happy DayWell I went back to work and except for a shooting pain that happened during a dinner shift yesterday I've been just fine. Friday night was surprisingly dead and I only made $60.00 on what is usually a $100.00+ night. Saturday I did well and was off the floor early. Sunday morning is my usual odds and ends shopping time after work but instead of picking those up at Walmart I bought me a new comforter and sheet set. I can't believe I just went out and spent a little over $100.00 on myself like that! But I didn't have a comforter as mine was a bit shabby so I had thrown it out this summer. I have a hard time spending that much money on myself when the holidays are coming up, but I'm already ahead of the game on Christmas Shopping so it's all good.
The comforter is so cozy though. It's a solid linen brown and is made of that super-soft luxurious microsuede. It's so comfortable and if anyone knows how cold and snowy an upstate New York winter is then you'd understand. This thing is so warm I actually took my electric blanket off my bed, something I've never done in any winter of my life. The sheets I bought match my room theme perfectly. My room is done in a modernized Victorian Style with a lot of washed out and stone washed shades of Burgundy, Burnt Orange, Sage, Olive, Linen and Ivory. The sheets are striped in those colours and look great with the solid coloured comforter.
Last night at work was funny as we were playing Spanish Music in the back. One of my friends Katie is a music major who's going for her Master's right now in Composition. It's hilarious cause she has absolutly no rhythm and couldn't figure out how to dance. Melissa (a cook) and I are dancing a jazzy style Salsa and she couldn't catch on. I'm determined to take her out clubbing one night and get her to dance.
After work I went to go and get those odds and ends I didn't get that morning. After buying the salad dressing, coffee filters, pop (soda for those of you down south reading) and a new litter box I went over to one of my fav sections, the arts and crafts department. I wanted to buy some Poinsettas to make a new centerpiece display for the dining room table for Christmas. Our Chritmas colours yep you guessed them are white, burgundy and gold. (Yes this is my fav colour scheme). I picked White Poinsettas for a change and they have a beautiful glitter on them that'll match the Mother of Pearl garland on the tree. I just have to buy some cranberries, ivy and a basket now.
I love the holidays!
